Wade has come a long way since the accident that left him a paraplegic. Not only did he take control of his own recovery after being told by his doctors that he would never walk again, he never gave up. He continues to progress beyond the expectations of doctors, and conventional medicine, and everything he learns from his experiences he uses to help others. It's this never give up attitude that caused him to look beyond the scope of conventional medicine to find potential advancements in spinal cord treatment. Wade has done extensive research into spinal cord injuries and possible treatments. From his research he has found two very promising procedures that are leading the way in spinal cord repair. Unfortunately, neither are covered under any health insurance, and they are very expensive. With his limited resources it would be impossible for him to take advantage of their potential, but he has found a way. He has taken his talent as a silver smith and is using it to help pay for his trip to China. Every piece that he creates and sells promises to bring him one step closer to his goal. He plans to document his treatment in China to bring back to the United States in the hopes that by doing so, it can benefit others in his situation.
